It met all expectations. It is very comfy for a bench. Fortunately we had seen the review about the Oak colour being rather light, so we choose the Mahogany one instead and find it a very attractive and pleasing colour (I would tend to call the colour a light Mahogany). The arm rests are surprising comfy and are at the right height although the picture makes then look rather too high. Great for resting a cup on. It is always a gamble buying an item without trying it first and I was concerned that it would not be very comfortable to sit on, but fortunately I was wrong. For a much longer period of sitting time (for skinnier/tender people) they may want to use a thin cushion on the base. It is really nice not having to worry about it getting wet in the rain or having to paint it every year. We would buy it again.
