Public perception - plastic is cheap and nasty

We first came thought of using this type of product while constructing a compost tumbler out of a used food grade barrel rescued from the food industry.

Very quickly we realised its potential to revolutionise the construction industry and grow the recycling business exponentially.

Our only hurdle was the public perception that plastic is cheap and nasty.

The public response to this product

When you have a product as good as this is, the job of changing public perception is a whole lot easier. That is what made us determined to make this business work.

We sent out some compost tumblers to our customers and waited to see the response. One customer complained that we had sent them a wood base instead of recycled plastic and demanded to know when we would send the recycled plastic one.

A multitude of uses for plastic wood

This particular profile can be used for studding and framing in the construction industry, for making picnic tables and benches and other out of doors garden furniture. Many of the products we sell use this profile for table tops or bench legs. It has similar properties to a South American hard wood, but all the advantages of plastic. It will never rot in your lifetime. In fact it is made of a dense polystyrene foam recycled from waste polystyrene packaging.

Help grow the green market

Local councils have recycling targets for plastic, but they don't recycle polystyrene, as their targets are set by weight, and a polystyrene cup takes up space but weighs next to nothing. Consequently most of it goes into landfill or gets incinerated. 30% of landfill is in fact taken up with plastic waste.

You can reverse this wasteful behaviour by demanding more products made from our recycled plastic wood, or just buy the synthetic wood timber yourself and make something that will look just like wood, but never rot or need a lick of paint - ever!

In a mad world, few things make more sense than recycling useful material. We are doing it, and we need your help. All you have to do is buy it, because it will save you time and money.
