A Raised Bed Designed for the Outdoor Classroom
Most raised beds are made from wood, but this one will not rot because it is made entirely from recycled polystyrene.
Its special claim to fame is its no maintenance features, which will save time and trouble, not to mention money, as it will never need painting, varnishing, or toxic preservatives.
The plastic wood itself is very realistic, as it has the same density and weight as many South American hard woods.
Once installed you can expect Kedel’s Raised Bed to remain happily doing its job without any fuss and with no replacement costs for generations.
The recycled plastic material is made entirely from waste polystyrene from plastic cups and packaging all collected from British homes and businesses.
Being recycled plastic it has a low carbon footprint to begin with, but since all the recycled plastic is UK sourced it is even more eco friendly.
A lot of recycled material comes from Asia and the transportation increases its carbon footprint dramatically.
Kedel get all their recycled plastic supplies from within a 50 mile radius of their manufacturing unit in Colne, Lancashire, in order to keep their products as environmentally friendly as possible.
