Description

HDPE sheet

We sell polyethylene plastic sheets in various colours and sizes. They are extremely popular among schools that use it for children's play equipment (which we also design and manufacture ourselves using our CNC machine).

Our polyethylene plastic sheets have the highest level of UV protection which ensures minimal fading over time and are colourfast, no painting or varnishing is ever required after purchase, reducing chemical use. This is a great material with excellent whole life costs and is eco-friendly.

Our HDPE Sheets, or High Density Polyethylene Sheets, are maintenance-free and completely recyclable.

WHAT IS HDPE?

HDPE stands for High Density Polyethylene: a versatile industrial material with moderate levels of wear resistance depending on thickness. High Density Polyethylene sheets are made of a softer plastic than other engineering plastics like Nylon so they can be easily manipulated, and it's an affordable option. It's not suitable for extremely heavy loads or high impact resistance, but it has good wear resistance since it is low-friction by nature.

HOW ARE HDPE SHEETS USED?

A high density polyethylene sheet can be used in wide variety across many industries, including the food and automotive industries, because of their wear resistance and cost effectiveness. They are both lightweight and strong, so can be molded into a wide array of products affordably. Our HDPE sheets are textured and low friction which gives them wear resistance. This makes them perfect for constructing, particularly projects with lots of colour (they have UV resistance to protect the color of the hype) such as children's playgrounds.

IS HDPE PLASTIC SAFE?

When it comes to using plastic, there can be some concern surrounding chemical leeching into food or personal care items. The truth is that high density polyethylene is safe for these uses, and further, high density polyethylene is largely used to make those things.

WHERE TO BUY HDPE SHEETS?

We manufacture HDPE/Recycled Plastic sheets of all different colours and textures. You can purchase a variety HDPE sheets from us here.

Please note that this material is unfortunately NOT recycled plastic though offcuts are recycled back into new material. As we do not separate plastics into their respective colours and types of plastic very effectively in the UK, solid bright colours are difficult to make with waste plastic. Consequently, our black HDPE is the only one containing 80-100% recycled plastic material. We are continuing to research a recycled plastic alternative in bright colours which may arrive as plastic separation technology develops.
